Finding old travel post cards tell us all about time and place! Never did we leave a motel in the 50s, 60s or 70s without the free post cards. Not sure why? But guess most people could then have living proof where they had been.
Architecture, automobile trends and fashion are revealed in many of these post cards.
The scenic cards that were offered give us an idea of what historical views looked like in a pristine time before nature and humans transformed the landscape. Those early cards were enhanced by color. Amazing what they did in those days, and what we can do today with pricey cameras, and photo enhancement software.
These post cards tell us much about what was trendy then, and most will leave a legacy for those that always wondered what things looked like in those "olden days"....cars with fins, inns with strange names, and people in clothing that keeps coming back every 20 years or so.
